Shandong Jiaotong University was founded in 1956. In 2000, it was transferred from the Ministry of Communications to Shandong Province, adopting a management system jointly administered by the central government and local authorities.

Shandong Jiaotong University was founded in 1956. In 2000, it was transferred from the Ministry of Communications to Shandong Province, adopting a management system jointly administered by the central government and local authorities. In 2011, it was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a pilot institution for training master's degree students in professional disciplines. In 2013, it was designated as a Shandong Provincial Higher Education Characteristic University for Applied Talent Cultivation and serves as a strategic research unit for the Ministry of Education's Applied Technology University Reform Pilot Program. The university is recognized as one of the “Top 50 Universities Nationally for Graduate Employment” for its exemplary practices.

 

Collaborative Projects

In May 2016, a university-enterprise collaboration was established with the School of Civil Engineering at Shandong Jiaotong University. The university designated the institution as the “Shandong Jiaotong University Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Base” and signed a scientific research project contract titled “Technical Research on Novel Composite Rock-Modified Asphalt Concrete Based on Rutting-Resistant Asphalt Pavement Structure.”
In August 2019, the collaborative project received a scientific and technological achievement award.
